Pantai Hospital Ampang’s Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day and well-equipped to handle any injury or medical emergency, round-the-clock every day. At the ED, the dedicated team of doctors and nurses are specially trained for emergency situations. They will evaluate the situation immediately using the triage method. The most severe cases with life-threatening conditions will be our topmost priority.

In addition to having a team of emergency specialists accessing and managing your case, a multidisciplinary team of specialists and surgeons are also on call to attend to complex medical conditions.

When Should You Go To The Emergency Department To Get Treatment?

The diagnostic process at the Emergency may involve various departments (modalities) such as the clinical laboratory services and imaging services. Once the patient has received the urgent medical intervention, he or she is transferred to a ward for further observation and treatment.

Our Emergency Department offers facilities to deliver immediate care including 24 Hours ambulance service, 24-hour access to hospital inpatient services, laboratory, radiology (CT Scan, MRI, X-Ray) and surgical services.

Triage & Waiting Time

The triage system is used to sort patients into categories so those with urgent medical needs get help first. The assessment is based on how sick a patient is upon arrival at the emergency.

If you’re paying via insurance, whether it’s a personal accident plan, comprehensive hospitalisation plan or travel insurance that covers your expenses at the ED, here are the documents needed:

	A photocopy of your NRIC/passport
	Original hospital receipts and invoices
	Itemised hospital bills/detailed bills
	Any diagnostic reports (blood test, coronary angiogram, X-ray, etc.)
	For overseas treatment: passport copies, boarding pass, flight ticket details, original itemised bill (and English translation, if necessary)

Our Emergency Department operates 24 hours a day, you can walk-in anytime during the day on in the wee hours of the night.

2	What can I expect when arriving at the Emergency department?

You will be required to fill in the e-health declaration form prior to entering the hospital.
Followed by registration.
You will then be attended to by our triage nurse at Triage Room. You will be stratified based on your condition to the dedicated zone which is Green, Yellow or Red.
Depending on the severity of your medical condition, you will be attended by our Emergency Department doctor.

Immediately (Red – Life Threatening),

You will be stabilized on the spot if your condition is critical.

within 15 minutes (Yellow – Semi Critical),
within 30min (Green – Cold Case).

The clock starts after your assessment at Triage Room.

If necessary, examinations such as laboratory test will carried test depending on your condition.
